About Us
MyPropertyValuer is an independent valuation practice based in Prebbleton, providing accurate evidence‑based property valuations across Christchurch and Selwyn. The owner and director, Katrina Roy, is a Registered Valuer and member of the New Zealand Institute of Valuers, with a long‑standing passion for property and valuation.
Katrina brings a blend of strong academic grounding and real‑world experience. She holds multiple valuation and finance qualifications and previously lectured in Finance at Lincoln University, where she still supports the Valuation and Property Management teaching team. Before moving into property valuation, she worked across construction management, corporate finance, business valuation, and accommodation provision - experience that now adds depth and practicality to her valuation work.
Born and raised in Christchurch, Katrina’s interest in property began early, helping her father renovate and extend their 1910s family home. Over the years, she has owned, built, and renovated several homes and residential rental properties, and undertaken small subdivision and boundary adjustments of residential sites in collaboration with her husband, who is a builder, civil engineer, and architectural designer.
Katrina has lived in Prebbleton for more than 20 years and is an active supporter of her local community. Outside of work, she enjoys travelling (with Japan being a recent favourite), exploring New Zealand in her motorhome, biking, easy trail walking, reading, visiting local markets and events, and spending time with family and friends.
